Afternoon stroll in Schoonhoven

Here is a shot from a few years ago when visiting family in the Netherlands.

As you can see it was a beautiful day (which does not happen in Holland very often) so my sister, her husband and I decided to go for a stroll in one of the towns nearby Gouda where she lives. This is Schoonhoven and as you can see it is a charming little place with all the Dutch characteristics: a canal, narrow cobble-stoned streets, a church with a steeple and people out enjoying the bit of sunshine.

I returned here briefly a few years later with my wife, Linda, but the weather was nowhere as nice.

This shot is a single exposure, processed in Lightroom and finished with my free “Warming Vignette Preset”, which, in this case, enhances the warm sunny feel of the scene.

I so enjoyed our time together in Holland. One thing that is so different here in the states is the amount of water. A lot of water ways and so green in Holland. Thanks for sharing it with me…..Linda
